Visual communication at the Loading Dock
What you can’t see can hurt you. Communication at the loading dock is critical for accident prevention. The key is to provide clear, full-time communication using flashing red and green lights to inform truck drivers, forklift operators and personnel about the status of the loading or unloading operation.
The Rite Solution. Adding a light communication system is an effective way to improve communication between truck drivers and your dock personnel. The red and green lights - instantly understood as "stop" and "go" - provide clear signals to dock workers inside and truck drivers outside, so your dock can operate more safely and efficiently. Rite-Hite takes the light communication concept to a whole new level. Included with the purchase of every Rite-Hite vehicle restraint is the Rite-Vu™ Light Communication System. Using clearly visible green and red lights, the system consists of Leveler-Vu and Corner-Vu, visible guides positioned in the line-of-site of a forklift driver inside and outside of a trailer at the dock. Those same green and red lights are found on the control box inside the building as well as on the outside of the building for the truck driver.
