Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Compliance

Vertical storing levelers give workers easy access to the pit for maintenance and cleaning with all components mounted off the ground, on the rear pit wall. This design allows for a more thorough wash down application and better compliance with Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) regulations.

Benefits

  • Dual Motion Sensors - Mounted on pit wall, to the right and left of the dock leveler. Each sensor scans the pit with a field that is the width of the leveler (plus an inch on each side) by ~6 ft. in front of the leveler. Sensors are active until the leveler platform is lowered to ~45 degrees.
  • Safe Sequence of Operation - Safe-T-Pit is integrated into the vertical leveler combination controls to help prevent the leveler raising or lowering when motion is detected in the pit.
  • Automatic Deactivation - Leveler operation is disabled upon motion detection, restored to upright position, and leveler controls are suspended for 5 seconds until after the pit is cleared.
  • “Fail Safe” Wiring - If one or both sensors are disconnected in anyway (loose wire, unplugged, severed cord, etc.) the vertical storing leveler is inoperable.
  • Access Brace - Standard on all continuous pit applications, adding an additional layer of pedestrian safety.
  • Durable Design - Built to meet IP66 and NEMA 4 rating standards, Safe-T-Pit can withstand harsh environments, such as in cold storage facilities, and most wash down applications.
