Dangers at Loading Dock

Don’t become another statistic.

There are 68,400 forklift accidents each year. Seven percent of those, or 4,788 accidents, are due to a lift truck running off the loading dock.*

While thousands of accidents are reported annually, many are not, especially near misses.

Unfortunately, accidents usually are only reported if the person dies or sustains substantial injuries.

How does dock run-off happen?
Most accidents at loading docks occur due to vacant dock positions that do not have a trailer parked at them, or due to separation between the truck and loading dock equipment.

How may vacant-dock accidents and trailer/dock separation be avoided?
You can protect your employees by using the following loading dock equipment:

Safe-T-Lip® Levelers
Safe-T-Gates®
Vehicle Restraints
Dok-Guardian Safety Barrier

*Statistics reported by the US Department of Labor, Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA).
