DOCK LEVELER PIT FORMING KIT REDUCES LEVELER PIT FORMING COSTS

MILWAUKEE—The Rite-Hite Aftermarket Corporation introduced the Dok-Box™ Pit Forming Kit today. The Dok-Box Pit Forming Kit is designed to help decrease the costs associated with forming dock leveler pits. The new Dok-Box Kit is used for creating leveler pits when remodeling an existing loading dock, and for creating leveler pits that are needed on new construction projects.

“Rite-Hite Aftermarket introduced this product in response to customer inquiries,” Rite-Hite Aftermarket President and CEO Paul Maly said. “In a very short time, the Dok-Box Pit Forming Kit is already improving set-up time and efficiency of loading docks at facilities across the country.”

The Dok-Box Pit Forming Kit consists of one 9-gauge galvanized steel rear panel; two 9-gauge galvanized steel side panels; one front and one rear steel squaring support bars; one 2-inch by 4-inch wood center spacer and one 4-inch by 4-inch front curb angle. A single coat of gray primer is applied to all visible sides.

The Dok-Box kit’s unique Quick-Hook™ design allows all sides of the pit forming kit to slide and snap together for easy installation. The front squaring support bar, rear squaring support bar, and center spacer are pre-cut so there is no fabrication or sizing needed at the job site.

The Dok-Box Pit Forming Kit is available in two models: a new construction unit and a retro-fit to existing loading docks unit. The retro-fit unit is used when a leveler pit is created after the concrete loading dock has been poured. Concrete is broken away and the Dok-Box retro-fit unit is put in place and secured by supports over the existing concrete floor, or is supported on blocks or shims from under the unit.

The Dok-Box Pit Forming Kit new construction unit is used when there are multiple loading docks that will be poured at the same. In this situation, a concrete slab is poured first and allowed to cure. Then the Dok-Box unit is put in place and secured to the concrete slab.
